This role primarily provides information and support for women undergoing assessment as part of the Breast Screen Aotearoa Screening programme but also supports the imaging clinics for patients who have breast symptoms.
Your work day will include: - Providing professional nursing services to all patients
- Working in partnership with the client and the multidisciplinary team
- Co-ordinating and organising specialists’ clinics, preparation of clinic material and surgery for Breast Surgeons
- Assisting with procedures, as appropriate assisting with radiological procedures, post-procedure checks
- Liaising with other health professionals for ongoing patient treatment
- Attending clinic when women are given cancer diagnosis
- Assisting with entering, reporting and analysing patient data
Ideally you will also have the following abilities: - Excellent interpersonal and strong communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of people at all levels.

- Demonstrate cultural awareness and commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
- The ability to liaise with staff across the service and support them in their roles as required to provide a well organised, efficient and women-focused service.
- Continuous improvement focus and collaborative mind set to deliver better outcomes.
- Excellent time management skills, be self-motivated and able to work in a precise and accurate manner, particularly under pressure.
- Have the ability to be flexible with your hours to best meet the needs of the service
- Computer competency in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel. Ability to quickly learn relevant computer systems and data bases.

Qualifications required: - For this role you will need to be a Registered Nurse with a current APC
- A Post Grad Breast qualification would be an advantage but is not essential
